The Crab in the Bucket Mentality

What's the first thing that comes to mind when you read the picture above? I'll give you a second...

Why are we so content with living in a community that consistently pushes one another down, so that no one is on top? Do we not have enough Faith that the individual that has "made it" will come back and bring their peers up the ladder with them? Do we envy them that much? Imagine living in a world where we pull each other up (regardless of how difficult it may be) so that we all can win. Sounds too good to be true, huh?

I don't know about you, but I have been so accustomed to my community cheering on my peers... until my peers were doing better than them. We want to see each other make it, but we have to make it first. It's a non-ending competition and we have the mindset that we are all running the same race - but we aren't! My goals and mentality are not like any other in this world and neither are yours. No one is built exactly the same. You are in competition with yourself. No one can out beat you, out run you, nor make you feel any less than yourself because your path was uniquely designed. You will get to your destination on time, regardless of how long it seems it is taking.

This took me until now to come to terms with and I can finally say that I have Peace. I used to envy those around me who were receiving blessings upon blessings, but I had to realize that my time is coming. Just wait on it.

We all have a race to complete. Our only job is to make it to the destination.

Don't you ever quit.
